Synthetic turf pitches are very sensitive to compaction due to intensive usage and contamination. Compaction of the fiber/infill system will lead to compacted pitches and the damping effect of the system will be lost. An additional disadvantage is that the grip of the sport shoes will be reduced, eventually this will cause injuries.
Often, compacted pitches are processed with a brush or tines. However, this is just a quick fix, because you’re only de-compacting a few millimeters of the upper layer. Nevertheless, the core problem of the compacted field is until the bottom of the fibre.
De-compaction of the entire synthetic turf system can be done with the GKB Aerator.
